The Village Family Services is a community-based nonprofit organization focused on the prevention and treatment of child abuse and family violence. The agency serves children and families of primarily Latino descent living in the greater Los Angeles area that includes North Hollywood, Glendale, Burbank, Van Nuys, and San Fernando. Our holistic approach towards accomplishing our mission is to provide comprehensive bilingual/bicultural mental health services that address and prevent child abuse and neglect. Services are provided through five major areas: Mental Health, Foster Care, Domestic Violence, Parenting Support, and Wraparound Services.

Position Summary: A/P-AR Clerk II

    Summary:
    Provides support and performs functions for the accounts payable and receivables department with emphasis in foster care program.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Processes invoices for payment, print and mails accounts payable checks.
    • Performs data entry and spreadsheet management.
    • Maintains accounts payable files and records.
    • Responds to vendor and employee inquiries regarding invoices, expenses, and check
    • requests; assists with discrepancy reconciliation.
    • Prints and routes accounts payable reports.
    • Assists with related special projects as needed.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    • Accounts Receivables
    • Applies payments to outstanding invoices in a timely manner.
    • Monitors and maintains accounts receivable aging
    • Assists with accounts receivable process through correspondence and collection calls with all three counties as directed.
    • Prepares customer invoices; reconciles foster care customers accounts.
    • Maintains accounts receivable files.
    • Assists with related special projects as needed.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    • Personal Success Characteristics:
    • 10-key by touch.
    • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts.
    • Proficient on Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook and MIP Accounting Software
    • Acute attention to detail.

    • Exposure to reading and interpreting program contracts for Foster Care, Mental Health and Wraparound.

    • Educational Requirements
    • 5 years accounting experience, or equivalent combination of education.
