The Village Family Services is a community-based nonprofit organization focused on the prevention and treatment of child abuse and family violence. The agency serves children and families of primarily Latino descent living in the greater Los Angeles area that includes North Hollywood, Glendale, Burbank, Van Nuys, and San Fernando. Our holistic approach towards accomplishing our mission is to provide comprehensive bilingual/bicultural mental health services that address and prevent child abuse and neglect. Services are provided through five major areas: Mental Health, Foster Care, Domestic Violence, Parenting Support, and Wraparound Services.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1. Good communication and time management skills.
- 2. Must be detail-oriented.
- 3. Minimum high school diploma. Bachelor’s of the Arts preferred.
- 4. Must be computer-literate in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- 5. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License.
- 6. Statement of sound physical health from a licensed physician, including tuberculin skin test.
- 7. Fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – ESSENTIAL:
- 1. Creates folders and files intake/placement package in agency and home files for children. Files documents as received.
- 2. Forwards foster home file to social workers and places agency’s file in cabinet.
- 3. Prints LA county report on 1st of the month.
- 4. Develops and summits FFA Monthly and Quarterly Report to DCFS. Summits draft to supervisor for approval by the 5th of the month.
- 5. Inputs children’s information (placement and termination) in Foster Track within 24 hours. Any placements and terminations need to be done on last day of the month and need to be input into Foster Track by the end of day.
- 6. Prints Foster Track reports due on 1st and 15th of the month and forwards to social worker and supervisor.
- 7. Inputs and maintains medical and dental information in Foster Track.
- 8. Inputs 30-day and quarterly reports in Foster Track.
- 9. Notifies social workers and supervisors via email of medical and dental examinations due:
a.Immediately after initial placements and a reminder two weeks later
b.one month prior to due date ongoing
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – AS NEEDED:
- 1. Attends staff meetings.
- 2. Provides support for administrators and supervisors.
- 3. Assists with Quality Assurance activities:
a.Audits active and discharged files and completes audit form.
b.Determines due date for corrections from social worker. Forwards due date and copies of the audit form to FCSW and supervisor.
c.Attaches a copy of audit form to client’s file and keeps original copy for follow-up purposes.
d.Closes out terminated files and stores them.
- 4. Develops and maintains files and stores them.
- 5. Responds to after-hour calls, 5:00pm-8:30am, and screens for appropriate placements.
- 6. Transports children.
- 7. Performs other duties as assigned.
