The Village Family Services is a community-based nonprofit organization focused on the prevention and treatment of child abuse and family violence. The agency serves children and families of primarily Latino descent living in the greater Los Angeles area that includes North Hollywood, Glendale, Burbank, Van Nuys, and San Fernando. Our holistic approach towards accomplishing our mission is to provide comprehensive bilingual/bicultural Mental Health Programs that address and prevent child abuse and neglect. Services are provided through five major areas: Mental Health, Foster Care, Domestic Violence, Parenting Support, and Wraparound Services.

Qualifications:
- The position requires that the individual be knowledgeable of, and be in compliance with the applicable laws and regulations of the client population served.
- The individual must have the ability to work effectively with others, manage personnel and program issues as they apply to the position.
- Appropriate experience and education in a related field:
a.Master’s Degree is required in a field approved by the State Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Regulations; Master’s of Social Work is preferred.
b.Bilingual/ Spanish a “MUST”.
- Must have knowledge of foster care and Title XXII regulations.
- BBS Intern or license preferred.
- Must have valid California Driver’s License.
- Statement of sound physical health from a licensed physician, including tuberculin skin test.
- Fingerprint clearance from Department of Justice, FBI, and Child Abuse Index.
- Must meet all requirements set by Community Care Licensing pertaining to the hiring of employees by a licensed community care facility.
Duties and Responsibilities-Essentials:
- Ensures that all staff complies with licensing regulations, mandated reporting requirements, and agency standards.
- Provides liaison services to county and state agencies, school personnel, clients and their relatives, foster parents and the community.
- Consults with the Assistant Administrator regarding sensitive political or public relation areas, personnel issues, foster parent problems, licensing issues, difficult client issues, or any other area that may require supervisor’s assistance or approval.
- Assists the Assistant Administrator in hiring, disciplinary, and termination procedures as directed.
- Prepares and conducts the Performance Evaluation Process of supervised personnel.
- Communicates with the Assistant Administrator every day to exchange important information, provide assistance and guidance.
- In collaboration with Assistant Administrator, organizes and supervises weekly social worker meetings in order to discuss clinical issues, plan events, promote teamwork, boost morale, and collectively resolve treatment-related problems and concerns.
- Participates in initial training for new social workers. Plans on-going training for social workers and foster parents in collaboration with Assistant Administrator.
- Plans and participates in activities related to management team meetings.
- Attends and participates in monthly all-staff FFA meeting.
- Participates in weekly intake department meetings.
- Reviews and assists in making changes to the vacancy list and caseload distribution.
- Attends TDM with inexperienced workers or complicated cases.
- Reviews case files on a regular basis to ensure quality treatment services.
- Monitors and ensures FCSW’s timely submission of paperwork and reports.
- Meets with social workers weekly for supervision, 1 hour per FCSW.
- Supervises between 4 and 6 social workers.
- Reviews and approves FCSW’s mileage, timesheets, and reimbursement.
- Problem-solves issues with foster parents, social workers, and FCSWs.
- Provides follow-up on HR issues for supervisees:
a.Vacation schedules
b.Sick and late notification
c.Office hours
d.Performance evaluation
- Input on raises
- Interviews natural and foster families on a random basis to ensure client satisfaction and solicits input to enhance the Foster Care Program.
- Participates in reviewing all reports of significant correspondence prior to mailing. Assists staff with writing, assessment, and treatment skills to eliminate errors and inconsistencies for quality assurance purposes.
- Provides crisis intervention and on-call backup for staff.
Duties and Responsibilities-As Needed:
- Assists with intake calls.
- Meets with Assistant Administrator, Administrator, and Supervisors.
- Covers for any social worker and/or supervisor.
- Conducts home visits announced and unannounced.
- Attends job fair and participates in recruiting potential employees.
- Attends agency staff and management meetings.
- Runs and develops the agenda for FFA team meetings.
- Updates the caseload distribution weekly.
- Meets with Community Care Licensing and County officials.
- Transports children.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
