The Village Family Services is a community-based nonprofit organization focused on the prevention and treatment of child abuse and family violence. The agency serves children and families of primarily Latino descent living in the greater Los Angeles area that includes North Hollywood, Glendale, Burbank, Van Nuys, and San Fernando. Our holistic approach towards accomplishing our mission is to provide comprehensive bilingual/bicultural mental health services that address and prevent child abuse and neglect. Services are provided through five major areas: Mental Health, Foster Care, Domestic Violence, Parenting Support, and Wraparound Services.

Position Summary:Oversees quality of program charts for Foster Care program, monitors documentation of services and accurate charting. Ensures documentation is in accordance with all regulatory standards, Title 22 and county contract.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1. Master’s Degree in Social Work or Bachelor’s Degree in a similar field.
  • 2. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to identify, track and measure service outcomes.
  • 3. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and supervisory skills.
  • 4. Experience with audits a plus.
  • 5. Must be computer-literate.
  • 6. Ability to establish rapport with children and families as well as working effectively within the agency and the social work community at large.
  • 7. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and state required registration and insurance for any personal vehicle driven for agency business.
  • 8. Live Scan fingerprint clearance is mandatory before first day of work.
  • 9. All clearances are required to finalize employment.
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – ESSENTIAL:
  • 1. Monitors program standards by performing ongoing peer review, utilization review in compliance with the Department of Children and Family Services standards.
  • 2. Conducts on-site audits and reports findings on accuracy of admission dates, discharge dates, needs and service plans, quarterly reports, regularity of chart notations and any other technicalities reviewed by the Department of Children and Family Services, or other auditors.
  • 3. Assesses and analyzes deficiencies in chart records and identifies trends in deficiencies.
  • 4. Develops and assists Quality Assurance Director in implementing corrective action measures and methods for improving the maintenance of the records.
  • 5. Gathers, reviews, and analyzes statistical and outcome data to provide useful information for evaluating quality control measures.
  • 6. Maintains regular interaction with FFA leaders.
  • 7. Reviews files in preparation for CCL visits, auditors/controllers, and county visits.
  • 8. Knowledge of Title 22, county contract, and agency program statement.
  • 9. Assists in developing instructional materials and manuals.
  • 10. Supports and assists Quality Assurance Director to implement and maintain the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act regulations and standards for the agency.
  • 11. Attends agency and departmental staff meetings and trainings.
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-AS NEEDED:
  • 1. Carries and handles any calls from the After-Hours phone, 5:00pm-8:30am, and screens for appropriate placement.
  • 2. Covers for and cross-trains intake workers.
  • 3. Assists Quality Assurance Director in training agency staff with both generic and site-specific training regarding standards, policies, and procedures, and quality assurance/quality improvement measures.
  • 4. Transports children.
  • 5. Performs duties as assigned.
