The Village Family Services is a community-based nonprofit organization focused on the prevention and treatment of child abuse and family violence. The agency serves children and families of primarily Latino descent living in the greater Los Angeles area that includes North Hollywood, Glendale, Burbank, Van Nuys, and San Fernando. Our holistic approach towards accomplishing our mission is to provide comprehensive bilingual/bicultural mental health services that address and prevent child abuse and neglect. Services are provided through five major areas: Mental Health, Foster Care, Domestic Violence, Parenting Support, and Wraparound Services.

Minimum Requirements:
- B.A. in child development, social science or related field.
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience preferred with DMH documentation.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Valid California driver’s license
Additional Qualifications:
- Required Knowledge of DMH documentation for Case Manager.(Case Mgr. initial assessments and annual documentation.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel
- Enhanced communication skills with intra and interagency staff.
Duties and Responsibilities - Essential:
- Conducts initial intake session for new clients and coordinates with therapist.
- Prepares initial documentation necessary to open client’s files.
- Processes referrals and organizes waiting list
- Responsible for processing and checking Medi-Cal eligibility.
- Maintains active client charts updated with current information
- Schedules and organizes clients appointments with Psychiatrist based on Psychiatrist’s schedule.
- Obtains necessary documentation from pharmacies, clinics and dependency court as needed.
- Perform some language assistance when needed during therapy/psychiatric sessions for non-English speaking families.
- Research and provide families with linkage to community resource referrals.
- Knowledge of mandated reporter resposibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities - Cont.
- Prepares and maintains case management records/reports, cm goals, initial referral summaries and correspondence.
- Provides follow-up on client absences, and assures that children and families are in compliance with funding source regulations/standards.
- Writes incident reports within 24 hours of incident.
- Responsible for filing all clinical materials.
- Participates in training/meetings, as mandated by program supervisor.
- Represents agency within the community.
- Attends staff meetings.
